Several organisations are involved in truck toll. Each of them processes personal data. Find out which organisations and personal data are involved here. You have the right to access, modify and delete personal data. If you have any complaints about privacy, you can contact the data protection officer.

The Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management ( the Minister) has these duties:
- To levy and collect the truck toll.
- To enforce the law.
Purpose and reason for processing
The Minister processes this personal data to answer your queries.
- initial(s) and surname
- email address
- telephone number (if you have filled it in)
The processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest. RDW does this on behalf of the minister.
Maximum storage period: 1 week after answering your question
The Minister will not keep your personal data for longer than necessary. For this data, that is up to 1 week after your question has been answered.
Personal data is not shared with others
The minister does not share personal data with others. Except when necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

The RDW is responsible for processing personal data in the role of supervisor. The supervisor uses equipment for this purpose, such as cameras above the road.
Purpose and reason for processing personal data
Truck toll is planned to start on July 1, 2026. Therefore, the RDW is already testing the equipment and processes needed. This includes recording data as a truck passes the test equipment. We record these data:
- image recordings of the vehicle, including registration number (persons are not recorded)
- information from the on-board equipment
- place, date, time
The tests will be run in 2025 and 2026 on roads where the truck toll will apply.
The reason for the processing is that the processing is necessary for the performance of a public interest task.
Maximum storage period: 7 working days
During the testing phase, we remove all data within 7 working days.
Sharing personal data with others
RDW works together with a so-called observation party. This party provides the above personal data to the RDW. RDW has signed a processor agreement with this party.
RDW does not share personal data with any other party, except when necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
You have the right to access, modify and delete personal data. You also have the right to:
- Withdraw any consent to data processing.
- Object to the processing of your personal data by organisations mentioned earlier.
Accessing and modifying personal data
Would you like to request inspection of your data under the GDPR? Are your personal details incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant? If so, you can ask us to amend or supplement your personal data. A request to this effect may also be made by an authorised representative or legal representative (of persons under 16 years of age). You can do this by sending a letter to:

- Copy of a valid identity document. We recommend making the photo and citizen service number (BSN) illegible.
- If you have authorised someone, you must send the authorisation along.
We will inform you of the processing of your request within 4 weeks.

How we secure personal data
