• You need DigiD to file an objection online. If the vehicle is registered in the name of a company, use eHerkenning. If you live abroad, you might be able to log in via eIDAS.
• If you do not want to file an objection online, see 'Filing an objection by post'. 
• If you wish to file an objection against a decision on a dispensation, you can only do so by post. See ‘Filing an objection by post’.
• File the objection in Dutch. An objection may also be filed in German or English. If an objection is filed in another language, we will ask for a translation. The rest of the objection procedure will be in Dutch.
• You cannot file an objection to a payment reminder for a fine.

1. Log in using the button ‘File an objection using DigiD’ or ‘File an objection using eHerkenning’ or ‘File an objection using eIDAS'.
2. Enter the registration number and the CJIB or fine number. 
3. You will first be shown the photos of the vehicle. After that, you can file your objection. 

If you wish to file an objection to more than 1 fine, file a separate objection per fine. 

1. You will receive a letter stating that we have received your objection. Sometimes we ask for additional information. 
2. We will process your objection. If necessary, we may contact you.
3. You must send your objection to us within 6 weeks after the date noted on the decision. We will then have 6 weeks to respond to your objection. You will receive a decision on your objection within 12 weeks at the latest after the date of the original decision. If we cannot meet this deadline, you will be informed of this in a timely manner.
4. You will receive a letter with our decision on your objection. 

You may ask someone else to file an objection on your behalf. We would like to receive a written authorisation. You must send this authorisation to us together with the objection. Attorneys do not have to provide an authorisation.

The following must in any event be included in and sent along with your objection:

• your name and signature
• the date and your address
• the decision that you are objecting to (send a copy of the letter with the decision, or state the reference of the letter)
• why you do not agree with the decision
• documents that have to do with the objection (e.g. photos, letters or invoices).

You might prefer to explain why you do not agree with the decision in person. State in your objection that you would like a hearing. You must do this within 6 weeks of the date shown at the top of the letter containing our decision. Please include your telephone number in the objection.
