With the truck toll, you pay an amount per kilometre driven. This applies to almost all motorways and to some provincial and municipal roads. The cleaner and lighter the vehicle, the lower the amount per kilometre. You can find the applicable amount for your vehicle here.

With the information on this page, you can estimate how much you will pay per kilometre. The total cost also depends on additional fees charged by the service provider. You can find the available providers on Providers and OBUs.

Calculate your rate per kilometre

To know how much you will pay per kilometre, you first need the information from steps 1 to 3. Then, in step 4, you will find the amount per kilometre.

Find the emission classes of your vehicle
Use the CO2 emission class search tool to find its CO2 emission class. You can find the Euro emission class on your registration certificate by looking for item V.9.

For vehicles registered in the Netherlands, you can use the RDW vehicle registration check to find both the CO2 emission class and the Euro emission class:
1. Click on the topic "Motor & Milieu".
2. Click on the topic "Uitstoot".
3. Look under code V7 for "CO2-emissieklasse" and "Emissieklasse".

These tables show the amounts per kilometre in euros. The amounts are for 2026. On 1 January each year, the prices increase due to inflation.

After the start of the truck toll, the Dutch motor vehicle tax (mrb) for trucks up to 12,000 kg will be abolished. The mrb for trucks of 12,000 kg and heavier will be significantly reduced. (Motor vehicle tax was previously known as road tax.)
