You will pay this amount
The truck toll means that you pay an amount per kilometre driven. The truck toll applies to almost all motorways and some provincial and municipal main roads. The amount depends on the weight and emissions of the truck.
From the start of the truck toll, the motor vehicle tax will be reduced to a minimum. You can download the table with the motor vehicle tax amounts here.
Estimate the truck toll
With the information on this page, you can estimate how much you will pay per kilometre. The total cost also depends on additional fees charged by the service provider. You can find the available providers on truck toll providers.
To know how much you have to pay per kilometre driven, you will first need the following information.
1. Technical maximum mass
Use this info to find this number.
2. CO₂ emission class
This is the class in which the truck is classified for CO₂ emissions.
You can find the CO₂ emission class via the RDW vehicle registration number check:
- Click on the topic 'Engine & Environment'.
- Check under code V7 for the CO₂ emission class.
3. Euro emission class
This class refers to the level of pollution a truck causes. It only applies to trucks in CO₂ emission class 1.
You can find the Euro emission class via the RDW vehicle registration number check:
- Click on the tab 'Engine & Environment'.
- Look under code 'V7' and 'emission class'.
With these two numbers you can determine how much you will pay per kilometre. See the tables with all amounts.
These tables show the amounts per kilometre. The amounts are from 2025. Each year the amounts are adjusted. In 2026, the amounts will be slightly higher. This price increase is necessary due to inflation, which reduces the purchasing power of money over time. This is called inflation. This causes price rises.

At the start of truck toll, the Eurovignette will be discontinued in the Netherlands. The Eurovignette will still be needed for Sweden and Luxembourg. For more information on ending the Eurovignette in the Netherlands, go to:

Part of the money from the truck toll goes to subsidies. These are for entrepreneurs in road freight transport, e.g. truck owners. The subsidies are aimed at making road freight transport more sustainable and efficient.
