Why a truck toll
Truck toll is planned to start on July 1, 2026. Just like in neighbouring countries, truck owners will then pay an amount per kilometre driven. The truck toll applies to almost all motorways and some main provincial and municipal roads.
The truck toll has two purposes:
- Make domestic and foreign truck traffic pay for using the road, per kilometre driven.
- Making the Dutch road transport sector more sustainable and efficient.
