Need an OBU fast

Do you have a vehicle with a non-Dutch registration? Or does your vehicle with a Dutch registration fall into CO2 emission class 2 through 5? Then please consult the FAQ on NedLinq's website:

If your Dutch vehicle falls into CO2 emission class 1, you will need the following details:

• technical maximum mass (of the vehicle combination)
• CO2 emission class
• Euro emission class (if the vehicle falls into CO2 emission class 1)

How to find the information

1. Go to our web page Dit gaat u betalen (only available in Dutch).
2. Enter the registration number and date under ‘Vind het bedrag via uw kenteken'. 
3. You will see the details of your vehicle after entering this information.

Do you need more than two OBUs? In that case, it is easier to register online with NedLinq:

• Go to the NedLinq website. 
• Click ‘Register’, create an account and register your vehicles. 
• Select ‘Mail’ as the delivery method. You will receive your OBUs within two working days in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and within five working days in the rest of Europe. 
• Need your OBU sooner? Under ‘Shipping method’, select ‘Express Shipping’. Your OBUs will then be delivered within one working day (within Europe). This service is currently offered free of charge.

Do you not have an OBU through no fault of your own? RDW will take this into account. This means the following:

• Is the problem and your license plate number known to us? And has your provider informed you about this? You will not receive a fine.
• Are you unsure whether we know of the problem and have your license plate number on record? Please contact your provider.
• If the problem and your license plate number are not known to us, you may receive a fine. You can object against the fine. If the objection shows that you did not have an OBU through no fault of your own, you will not have to pay the fine.

Is there a problem with your OBU? For example, if the indicator light is red or your OBU has been lost? Then you must do the following:

• Report the problem to your service provider immediately. On the Paying truck toll page, you can find an overview of all service providers.
• Make sure you have a working OBU installed in your cab within 3 hours. Unable to arrange this through your provider? Go to an OBU pick-up point.
• Activate your new OBU immediately.

Please note: If you drive with an OBU that is not working properly, you may receive a fine.

Provider unknown

Do you not know who your OBU provider is? You can often find the service provider's details on the front or back of the OBU, for example:

• Logo
• Telephone number
• QR code that you can scan with your phone
