The truck toll applies to Dutch and foreign trucks. These are vehicles in category N2 and N3. They have a technical maximum weight of more than 3,500 kg.

The truck toll applies to both Dutch and foreign trucks. These are vehicles in categories N2 and N3. They have a technical maximum mass of more than 3,500 kg. The truck toll also applies to pickup trucks and vans weighing more than 3,500 kg.

 
Truck categories N2 and N3

  • N2:
    Trucks with a technical maximum weight of more than 3,500 kg and up to and including 12,000 kg.
  • N3:
    Trucks with a technical maximum mass of more than 12,000 kg or more.

You can find the vehicle category using the RDW licence plate check. The category is shown under the letter 'J'. (For vehicles with a Dutch license plate only.)

Technical maximum weight

The technical maximum mass is the maximum mass that a vehicle with its load may weigh according to the manufacturer. The vehicle is designed and built for this maximum mass.
