Apply for an exemption
Vehicles with an exemption don't pay truck toll. Does your truck have an exemption and a license plate from another country than the Netherlands? Then apply for an exemption. Does your truck have a Dutch registration number and does it have an exemption? You don't need to do anything. You get the exemption automatically.
Does your truck have a registration number from a country other than the Netherlands? Then apply for an exemption. You can also apply for an exemption for motorhomes with a registration from outside the Netherlands.
Vehicles with exemption and a Dutch Registration
For these trucks, the exemption is applied automatically if they have a registration in the Neteherlands:
- Electric trucks and vans (zero emission) up to 4,250 kg.
- Trucks with a one-day registration number.
- Trucks with transition registration number (transit plate).
- Trucks with a trade plate.
- Rubbish trucks, street sweepers and drain cleaners.
- Defence vehicles.
Apply for an exemption for vehicles not registered in the Netherlands
Does your truck have a registration number from a country other than the Netherlands? You must first report the vehicle for exemption. This applies to:
- Electric trucks and vans (zero emission) up to 4,250 kg.
- Rubbish trucks, street sweepers and drain cleaners.
- Motorhomes in categories N2 and N3.

Fill in the requested information.

Upload a copy of:
- The front and back of the vehicle registration certificate.
- The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for the vehicle when you have a motorhome in category N2 or N3 (see ‘Motorhomes with a non-Dutch registration’).

Once we have received your application, you will receive an automatic e-mail.

We will review your application. Within 5 working days, you will receive an e-mail from us with a link to our message. It will say whether the vehicle has been recorded.
